Lodging Facilities
Who needs a permit?
Any hotel, motel, bed and breakfast inn, labor camp, or other Lodging Facility as defined in the Legislative Rule 64 CSR 18 is required to apply for a Permit to Operate a General Establishment. Additionally, any such facility offering food service and/or a pool must also apply for a separate Food Establishment Permit and/or Recreational Water Facility Permit.
Permit Application/Renewal
To apply for or renew a General Establishment Permit for a lodging facility, please submit the following to the Health Department:
- SG-49 Application for a Permit to Operate
- An Application for Environmental Health Permit
- Annual Permit Fee (renewals due every June)
Inspections
General Sanitation Inspections are conducted annually and on a complaint basis. Food and Recreational Water inspections within applicable facilities are generally conducted twice a year.
